As Insomnia Cookies continues to grow, there’s a need to develop and expand our brand. Since we rely heavily on social media, we set out to create “swag“ so our customers could wear and share their love for Insomnia Cookies. From workout tops to totes, we wanted to have a wide range of products that would appeal to a majority of our fans. Through catchy phrases and bright patterns, we aim to appeal to our primary demographic of college students and young adults.

While I interned at Hallmark’s Corporate office during the summer of 2015, I had the amazing opportunity to lend my mind and designs to the 2017 Valentines Day line. I interned in the Gifts department, so it was a great change of pace to step away from print and web and work instead on actual physical objects. I was pulled into the project initially by submitting funny phrases and from there I was tasked with turning those puns into gifts that could be incorporated into the line. Products include magnets, mugs, and ceramic containers.

For Insomnia Cookies’ 2018 Holiday campaign, we wanted to focus on all the ways we allow people to give and more specifically, “give tastefully.” The overarching look for both print and digital pieces focused on the fair aisle sweater patterns popular around the colder months. I also proposed various winter-themed cookie cake center options. Lastly, I worked with our team to flesh out a short advertisement showing just all the ways Insomnia Cookies can help you give gifts during the season.

For the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Temple Theaters to bring the visuals for their annual production seasons to life. Taking inspiration from costume moodboards and set design sketches, I’ve strived to do justice to all the work behind each and every show. Conveying the essence of a show through just one design has been a great challenge. Playing with styles and color schemes has helped me bring a freshness to productions old and new. I’ve also designed brochures, postcards, and t-shirts that have been incorporated into their seasonal materials.

When thinking of new cookie cake shapes besides circles for Insomnia Cookies, I launched into the project by initially figuring out the dimensions and curvature for the blueprint of a football cake ring. I also proposed ways in which we could decorate the cake. From there, I designed print materials (stickers, flyers, window clings, etc) as well as both still and motion web graphics to promote the launch of our Football Cookie Cakes as well as the relaunch prompted by the success of the initial launch.

The annual Temple University Diamond Screen Film Series has always been an interesting event to design for with a lot of different pieces. For the 2018 show, items included an invitation with reply card, brochure, posters, flyers, and the design for a DVD disc and case featuring a recording of the event. The overall look was inspired by this year’s TFMA tribute award recipient, Barbara Hammer, as well as a greater overall focus on media arts. I tried to capture that through the use of different textures on one surface. I wanted the words to feel pasted on and hand drawn elements brought a personal touch to the poster.
